Department of Forensic Science
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
The Department of Forensic Science was established in the Academic year 2019-2020. The department offers a three year B.Sc., degree course. The department imparts quality education with hands on experience to fit in to the forensic department of government.. The need of trained man power in this area is on increase. We cater the needs of the government forensic department. The department has fully equipped with laboratories specifically for each specialization viz., Hematology unit, Toxicology unit, Microbiology unit, Finger print analysis unit and photography unit.

FACILITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT:
BIOLOGY UNIT:
In the biology unit, biologists are in charge of DNA profiling on dried blood stains and other body fluids.
DOCUMENT UNIT:
The unit is in charge of examining handwriting and typewriting on suspicious documents to determine the viability and source of the document.
TOXICOLOGY UNIT:
In the Toxicology unit, body fluids and organs are examined to determine the presence of drugs and poisons in an individual body’s.
PHOTOGRAPHY UNIT:
In this unit, there is a full record of all physical evidence from a crime. The evidence is also examined.
FINGERPRINT UNIT:
In this unit, fingerprint evidence is processed and examined.
CRIME INVESTIGATION UNIT:
In the crime sense investigation unit, collected crime scene evidences are preserved and to be processed later at the crime scene laboratories.
MODEL SAMPLES UNIT:
In this unit, the various biological and abiotic samples were collected and stored it as a model samples.
