Activity
  1. Providing language training sessions for emulating the communication skills, group discussion techniques, and Interview techniques which are the screening methods used by the organizations these days.
  2. Developing a sound bond between industry and students by keeping up to the expectations of both.
  3. Conducting Model Aptitude tests, Mock Group discussions & Mock Interviews to pinnacle in the Recruitment process.
  4. Continuously updating the database for meeting the different requirements from the organisations and to make students choose the best possible company for their career.
  5. Updating various departments about the requirements of the industry so as to enable them to get the students ready for the external world.
  6. In-plant training, Industrial visits, Projects, Guest lectures and other Industry-Institute interaction activities.
  7. Arranging meeting with eminent personalities from the industry so as to emphasis the ever changing need of the industry and how to make one ready for it.
  8. Arranging Entrepreneurship Guidance Programmes.
  9. Career guidance sessions for higher studies.
  10. Arranging – Industry Institute partnership.
Based on the following category specialized training are offered to the students
S.NO CATEGORY TRAINING
1) Job Resume preparation, Self introduction, Mock Interview, Interview assistance, self evaluation, Attending Campus interview.
2) Higher Studies Creating awareness for higher studies opportunity and providing assistance for preparation of entrance test.
3) Govt/ Bank Exams Creation of study circle, arranging for special talk and training from achievers of the exams. Arranging for regular virtual practice.
4) Entrepreneurship Creating EDII cell and arranging training for various avenues like jute products, cell phone training in association with skill India and skill development trainers from NGO and Tamil Nadu skill development corporation.

IIP (Industry Institution Partnership)

Training & Placement cell initiated to create a new model called IIP (Industry Institution Partnership) to reduce the gap between industry and institution and to update the industrial expectation to the students frequently to get their placement easily.

  1. Students are able to understand the expectations of the industry.
  2. Students are able to update their knowledge and improve their skill according to the requirements of the industry.
  3. Students are able to get practical exposure to understand the reality and this will help to reduce the gap between industry and educational institutions.

General Guidelines for attending Interview

1.Good grooming is expected for a job interview.

2.Shoes should be polished with no visible wear.

3.Be sure there are no buttons missing or stains on your clothes. Don’t chew gum.

4.You may want to pop a breath mint right before your interview.

5.Bring along a fresh change of clothes if you are interviewing after work to avoid looking sloppy.

6.Shorts, T-shirts and sneakers are not appropriate for most job interviews.

 

Interview Dress Code for boys

1.A solid-color suit in cotton or a cotton blend, either pale(light) or white clean and pressed, is standard for a job interview.

2.A long-sleeved white or light blue shirt and a silk tie in a solid color or small stripe looks nice.

3.Wear leather shoes with dark, mid-calf trouser socks that won’t show skin when you sit.

4.It’s fine to wear a watch, class ring and wedding ring if desired but no other jewelry.

5.A conservative approach is generally best in an interview, so consider removing any visible piercings and covering tattoos, depending on the position.

6.Be sure that your hair is neatly trimmed and facial hair is well-groomed.

7.A close-cropped cut is more becoming to balding men than a comb over.

8.Fingernails must be clean and trimmed.

9.Avoid strong-smelling after-shave or cologne.

10.Carry a briefcase or portfolio. Even if the job itself would not require a suit, it’s customary to dress more formally for the interview.

Interview Dress Code for girls

1.A solid-color  salwar kameez with dupattas (step shawl) cotton or a cotton blend, either pale(light) or white clean and pressed, is standard for a job interview.

2.wear simple pattern or designs

3.Wear flat footwear, avoid anklets.

4.It’s fine to wear a watch, class ring and wedding ring if desired and small neck piece (chain)  and small pearl or small ear stud but no other jewelry..

5.A conservative approach is generally best in an interview, so consider removing any visible piercings and covering tattoos, depending on the position.

6.Be sure that your hair is neatly tied, avoid free hair.

7.Fingernails must be clean and trimmed.

8.Avoid strong-smelling perfume,  avoid turmeric powder and flowers.

9.Carry a briefcase or portfolio. it’s customary to dress more formally for the interview.

Goal  of Placement Cell is to bring the student and industrial community together to a mutually desirable employment relationship and to provide necessary guidance and information to the students in drafting the future career and keeping an up to date employment trends.
