ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

B.Sc. Visual Communication, was established in the year of 2019 ,designed to be a job oriented course. Students follow an intensive curriculum of visual communication that include Filmmaking, Television Programming, Screenwriting, Cinematography, Broadcast Journalism, Digital Photography, Sound Engineering and Sound Designing, Video Editing, Graphic designing and Compositing.

Our students are getting training in the state- of the- art Film and Television studios, Non- Linear Editing suites and Digital Audio work station.The program sets the platform for the student’s lucrative career opportunities in MEDIA

We train students to streamline the process of imagining a story, thinking it in audio-visual terms, adapting it to a screenplay and realizing it cinematically through the film-making process. Students are made responsible to lead the team that will collaborate to convert the script to a film. Each student given opportunity in film direction and screenplay writing, Documentary filmmaking and Televisionprogramming.

This gives an  ample opportunity to learn from experience before venturing out into a film making career.Students work directly with essential tools of the craft, shooting with HD digital camera as well as a number of HDSLR’s, outdoor filming kit, Track and trolley and professional Lights making our students best in cinematography industry.Training in News and Entertainment programs making in broadcast studios and Production Control Room ensures employment in news channels and sports channels as producer and JournalistExcellent ambiance for learning aesthetics and techniques in editing through Final Cut Pro and AVID Media Composer that turns them as professional Editors.Professional audio recording theatre with Protocols software will merit the students in music production and other audio programs.

As one of the most ubiquitous forms of visual communication, graphic designers are involved in everything from branding and logo creation, publication layout, billboards, product packaging, and much more. Graduates, training in 2D and 3D Animation labs to move into the professional field of print Publication, web designing, 2D & 3D Animation and Visual effects.

DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES:

One day workshop on “ GRAPHIC DESIGNING PROGRAMME” on  14^th Feb 2020  Chief guest  : Dr .Selvaganapathi, Managing Director,Visual Designer Academy of designing & animation, Madurai ,addressed to our students.

The department of visual communication  in collaboration with Himalayas, conducted one day program on “CONFIDENCE STRATEGY” on 10^th Dec 2019.
